Charlie as Ambassador of Truth

It has been a week since the death of Charlie Kirk! Millions of people have expressed their sorrow, grief, and anger over what has occurred. But that mourning is not limited to the United States. Charlie’s message of Gospel faith, Christian values, and conservative ideals translates easily into other cultures and languages.
The death of TPUSA’s founder led to immediate mourning across North America, with vigils and prayers held by leaders and citizens alike. The grief soon spread to Europe and Asia, where political figures and nations he had recently visited expressed their sorrow and respect. Tributes also arose in Africa, Oceania, and South America, making his death a moment of global reflection and solidarity.
Why?
Because the language of goodness, truth, and beauty is universal. It is rooted in the revelation of God in the Scriptures. Therefore, what Charlie represented cannot be stopped, because the message he presented cannot be stopped. It comes from a God who does all things well, who overcomes linguistic barriers, and who puts his law in every man.
Charlie was an ambassador of truth. He was a prophetic voice in a culture surrounded by clichés, cowardice, and leftist sound bites. He understood that his faith guided everything, even if it meant standing against everything. Charlie’s gifts were remarkable—rhetorical ease, intellectual fervor, and the ability to build coalitions. And he used all those gifts for the glory of God.
He knew what it could cost him. He knew that the antagonism would only grow as a result of his faithfulness. Charlie understood the Sermon on the Mount: “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
We come together this evening to pray and sing for the honor of Kirk and Country. It is not a coincidence that the name Kirk means Church. And it is no coincidence that when the Church gathers, she does warfare against principalities and powers. When we sing, we are warring against those who would destroy us. And so, this evening, we come to sing these psalms and hymns of lament and imprecation. We come to sing for the honor of Charlie Kirk, and for the good he proclaimed so boldly. Therefore, we come with confidence that the death of Charlie means life for Charlie, and for those who remain, the death of Charlie means life for our nation and for God’s people.
Our congregation has fasted today! We are hungry for food, and our bodies will be satiated when we eat again. But our souls are also hungry, and they will only be satisfied when we call on the name of God, humble ourselves, and pray and seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways, for then Yahweh will hear from heaven, and will forgive our sin and heal our land.
